International Art Workshop Pienkow 2006The winner of the competition of the 5th annual International Art Workshops in Pienkow is Margot Lamers from Hague, the Netherlands. Special distinction was awarded to Piotr Korol from Lublin, Poland.
Our fifth International Art Workshop, Pienkow 2006, took place in Pienkow from June 25, 2006 to July 9, 2006. The Art Advisory Committee reviewed a large number of portfolios of alumni from renown art centers and awarded participation in our workshop to the following artists: Julita Malinowska and Maja Krysiak: Academy of Fine Arts, Krakow; Our artists were accommodated at Uher House of Fine Arts and assisted by our director, Mrs. Theresa Chomik. We had the opportunity to experience an exhibition of art by Oganes Kazarian, member of our Art Advisory Committee at Dr. Pienkowski's residence Pienkow. During this workshop we also had the pleasure of viewing the art exhibitions of Tamara Gridyayeva (Lviv) and Katarzyna Szczodrowska (Gdansk), members of our artistic family. photos from the opening of Oganes' and Kasia & Tamara's exhibitions A special event this year was a Symposium devoted to function of private art sponsorship in the collection of modern art in Poland. Participants of this symposium included our artists as well as special guests: Agnieszka Rayzacher (Galeria Lokal 30, Warsaw); Grazyna Cybulska (art historian); Jagoda Barczynska (Galeria 72, Chelm); Anna Nawrot; and Jan Gryka. Special points of view to these discussions were brought by our friends from Hague: Saskia Monshouwer (art critic); and Professor Jan van der Pol from The Royal Academy at Hague. According to our tradition, laureate of last year's workshop, Lukasz Huculak presented his art at Galeria 72, Chelm generating much interest in our artistic community. photos from the opening of Lukasz' exhibition Our artists had the opportunity to experience the great surroundings of southeast Poland, visited a number of towns including Chelm, Zamosc and Lublin and participated in a number of parties attended by members of our artistic community as well as political figures including our United States Ambassador to Poland, His Excellency Victor Ashe. We concluded our workshop with an exhibition of art evaluated by our Artistic Advisory Committee: Professor Baj from Academy of Fine Arts, Warsaw; Mr, Kazarian, artist; Lukasz Huculak, winner from 2005; Professor Jan van der Pol from The Royal Academy at Hague; Professor Luciak from Academy of Fine Arts, Krakow; Professor Piotr Kielan from Wroclaw; Professor Bokoteja from Lviv; Professor Tomasz Zawadzki from Lublin; and Dr. Marek Maria Pienkowski. The jury selected Margot Lamers from Hague as winner of the competition and special distinction was awarded to Piotr Korol from Lublin. Our 5th Pienkow International Art Workshop 2006 concluded with a fine gala, at Dr. Pienkowski's residence Pienkow, which brought a variety of artists, local business elite and politicians.
