JAN VAN DER POL

Born March 13th, 1949 in Aalsmeer, The Netherlands.

Lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Independent artist since 1972.

Received several prizes and scholarships. Many solo exhibitions, in Holland and abroad, were held since 1975.There were a lot of participations in group shows. Works in the main Museums in the Netherlands as well as in many private collections.

Published huge bibliophile books: IUOEYA BFG X ZNQD VCSP KWTRL HMJ (including The Hieroglyphs of Horapollo translated into Dutch) in 1999 and Magazijn "Memoria" (with 52 poems by Atte Jongstra) in 2004.

Since 1985 professor in painting at the Royal Academy, The Hague, Netherlands.
